Floors Our entire range is suitable for indoor floors. The material is resistant to intensive traffic, has a high wear resistance, a high mechanical resistance and is scratch-resistant. Suitable for seamless floors in large open spaces; easy to clean and maintain. Other applications? Our microcement is so versatile that it can also be used for stairs, walls, shower trays, washbasins and washbasins, facades and balconies. How does it look? The atmosphere that decorative microcement gives to your room is particularly natural, elegant and above all tough and industrial. The texture of the products is different, you can choose from coarse, medium coarse and fine. The structure of the product becomes smaller as the product becomes coarser. It combines well with other materials, such as parquet or cement tiles. You will see how your space gets something very personal and contemporary! Aesthetically it looks like polished concrete, but it is definitely NOT the same. With our ready-to-use microcement you have more advantages: It is faster and easier to process. No heavy machinery or tools are required for processing. Less renovation work. Less costs. Less time consuming. It is lighter and therefore does not affect the structural loads of the building. It can be used anywhere, not just on the ground floor. No joints, no cracks.

Floor......

Microcement is a cement-based stucco that is applied by hand to floors to create a seamless surface finish. The finish is similar to what you would expect from polished concrete. Because it is hand sanded on site, you get a truly unique texture on your floor that won't be exactly replicated anywhere else. SeaStone Microcement is the perfect floor finish for anyone looking for an alternative to wood or tile floors. It creates a soft, neutral seamless, contemporary base layer that you can build your interior around.

What is the difference between microcement and polished concrete floors?

We will not be able to control the texture and color as well with polished concrete as with microcement. There are natural color variations depending on where in the country the concrete was produced and differences in stone colors, dimensions and distribution. Thus, a polished concrete surface may be more varied in its texture than a microcement floor. This works really well if you're looking for a raw industrial feel. Polished concrete is also exceptionally strong and you can achieve fantastic reflections in it. Microcement is softer, warmer and the texture is more evenly distributed.

All RAL & NCS colors are available.

How long does a microcement installation take?

Microcement is applied seamlessly by hand trowel, which means it is not a quick process. We are on site for 7 to 10 days, depending on the size of the floor. The microcement will be very prone to staining or marking until the coating is applied at the end of the process, so during that time we need the area completely to ourselves. Customers are often amazed at how much time and effort we put into their floors. And it shows in the superior finish we achieve time and time again. SeaStone Microcement is certainly not a quick fix, it takes time, patience and experience.

Is microcement sustainable?

The microcement we use for all our floors is specifically designed for high traffic areas. Thus, it is stronger and more durable than most other microcement products on the market. Once finished, the microcement has fantastic stain resistance that will last for years. We are so confident in the products that we offer a 5-year warranty on all microcement floors.
One thing to keep in mind is that microcement takes 28 days to fully cure. In principle, therefore, handle it with care.

"When should I schedule the Microcement?."

Applying microcement is a craft, so we should really be the last to hit when everything is ready. if the room has a kitchen, it is not unusual for us to start work after the kitchen has been installed. You just need to leave the skirting boards off and we'll smear under it as far as we can - usually about 100-200mm. Alternatively, you can install kitchens on top of microcement, just ask the fitters to make sure she doesn't damage it. If the microcement is applied to concrete or screeds, they must be fully cured before we get started. The time it takes will depend on the manufacturer's recommendations and the thickness of the floor, but it can take up to 3 months, so you should take this into account when planning your project.

Can SeaStone Microcement be used with underfloor heating?

Yes, it can be used with both electric underfloor heating and ducted underfloor heating. Both must be leveled first, in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. And then the underfloor heating has to be turned on and brought to the highest temperature (increased every day at small intervals, they call this the heating protocol) before gradually lowering the temperature to "off". This process will force any contraction and expansion before laying the microcement.

Barst microcement?

SeaStone Microcement will not crack on its own, it will only crack if there is cracks or movement in the subfloor. It is important that we work closely with your main contractor from the start of construction to ensure that the subfloor is properly prepared for microcement. If this is not the case or possible in connection with an existing floor, we will determine what kind of work we have to perform before starting the installation of the microcement.

Does Microcement need expansion joints?

Because microcement is very flexible, it can be laid seamlessly over an entire surface without the need for expansion joints. The only time you will see expansion joints in a microcement floor is when there are expansion joints in the subfloor - in this case we have to respect these joints and follow them in the finishing.

What surfaces can microcement be applied to?

SeaStone microcement is amazingly versatile with fantastic bonding properties, it can be applied seamlessly to almost any surface. We regularly apply microcement to screeds, concrete, leveled floors, flagstones, tiles OSB boards and cement boards. We only ask that you and your contractors follow surface preparation guidelines to avoid additional costs or delays.
